I had the good fortune to photograph a special actress portrait one day in Miami beach, Gold Coast. Living and working for 14 months in gold Coast allowed me to create the best results that I had in mind. It is a challenge sometime as the wind blows the hair in model’s face, but I like the challenge as you may already know.
It was a summer day on the Gold Coast. Kristin and I arranged a time to meet at the Miami beach carpark one afternoon. When we reached the location very near to the ocean, we hopped out to walk barefoot to the rocks just under the famous lookout there, It can be sometimes quiet and peaceful on the beach, but our day was one of the busiest days as a wedding was happening nearby at the same time.
When we took a few shots in the sand, I decided to play closer to the waves and our plan stretched out with some wet look and different costumes, Kristin informed me that she can use some water spray on her face and hair to create the look that I was going for and we did it. I grabbed my camera and began shooting headshots as soon as the sun started to hide behind the rocky wall. Kristin was so relaxed as I used my wife ,Sara as my light assistant. When the session was finished, we spent the next hour talking to locals and watch the kids playing there. It was so relaxed and private spot to change the outfits that I booked a few more models for the same spot later. And as you can see below, I captured some good looking photos before the sun set that day. I will always remember to tell the models to bring some warm clothes as after any photoshoot at the beach, it gets a little bit chilly, even in summer time.
Then using the cave shaped gap on the beach I tried to have some fashion concept:
Believe me when I say keeping the eyes open was a challenge:
And also trying to keep the hat on in harsh wind:
Then it was time to get dirty, I mean sandy. Anyway, we were heading home after this shot as the sunset already happened.
